We have four lines of rabbits we are going to work with. English Angoras, German Angoras, German/English Angora Hybrids and Jersey Woolies. Our main line will be the hybrids, as I like the ease of care of the Germans, but prefer a wide range of color like the English have, so will be working on developing a line that has both for the farm. The English Angoras were the first breed we added, a chocolate doe and a red-eyed white buck. They produce nice fiber, but require a lot of care to keep the coats in good condition. They average about 6 pounds as mature adults. The German Angoras are a LARGE fiber rabbit averaging about 10 pounds for a mature adult. They come in mainly white, with a few blacks that were imported. Their coats require very little care, but do have to be sheared every 90 days. The Jersey Woolies are both small fiber rabbits and pets, as they only get to 3.5 pounds as mature adults.
